  • Summary:
    The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for compiling and maintaining accounts payable records by performing such duties as processing invoices, and reconciling vendor statements to ensure timely and accurate payments.

    Accounts Payable Duties:
    • Matches packing slips and purchase orders to invoices.
    • Codes invoices and sends to the appropriate manager for approval.
    • Posts invoices in DSI Accounts Payable system.
    • Prepares monthly close, runs reports and obtains approval signatures from management.
    • Reconciles vendor statements with accounts payable ledger and follows up on outstanding items.
    • Sends vendor database changes to head office.
    • Prepares expense reimbursement cheques for managers and sales force (in some branches).
    • Answers all vendor inquiries.

    Other Duties:
    • Re-billing to other Inland dealerships and warranty credits for customers
    • Maintains warranty schedule per instructions from the warranty administrator
    • Vacation coverage for other administrative positions as needed and directed by management (Payroll, day-sheets, etc.)
    • Prepares quick cheques for miscellaneous payables
    • Processes journal vouchers for warranty and credit departments (in some branches).
    • Files paperwork as necessary.
    • Maintains professional appearance and neat work area
    • Other duties may be assigned
    • Becomes familiar with and complies with the company's Health & Safety Manual.
  • Requirements:
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) essential
    • One year certificate from college or business school preferred
    • Two to four years related experience and/or training
    • Basic accounting/bookkeeping knowledge as it relates to Accounts Payable
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
    • Attention to detail and quality orientation
    • Time management skills
