What is the opportunity?

RBC Dominion Securities Branch located in Saskatoon, SK is looking to hire an Associate to assist an established Investment Advisor, with a focus on Commodity Futures & Options. You will be supporting the business by providing clients with exceptional service in an efficient and professional manner.

What will you do?
  • Support the Investment Advisor in general administrative duties in the management of client accounts
  • Interact with clients on a daily basis by phone, email, and in-person
  • Request information and documentation from clients in order to open accounts and keep client files up to date
  • Monitor all pending transfers to ensure completion on a timely basis
  • Business development activities as opportunities are identified
  • Place trades and follow up to ensure proper settlement and delivery
  • Analyze equity and derivative markets to identify potential value creation opportunities
  • Prepare documentation/presentations for client and prospect meetings
  • Manage and participate in the Wealth Management process
  • Prepare and present financial projections for clients
  • Identify opportunities and make referrals to RBC Wealth Management and RBC Royal Bank Partners as appropriate
  • Responsible for the professional servicing of incoming telephone and email contacts from clients, Advisorsand other internal and external partners

What do you need to succeed?

The successful candidate will possess a knack for client service along with a keen sense of organization and attention to detail. Candidates must be resourceful and able to demonstrate or learn the skills required to support the management of clients' wealth and investment portfolios.

  • Exceptional client service skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • IIROC license (RR preferred)
  • Experience speaking to clients regarding their investment portfolios
  • Successfully completed Canadian Securities Course
  • Successfully completed Conduct and Practices Handbook Course

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Strong understanding of technical & fundamental analysis techniques
  • Strong understanding of the utilization of derivatives for hedging and risk management activities
  • At least 5 years of financial industry experience, preferably with a background in trading derivative products (options, futures, etc.)
  • Completion of Futures Licensing Course
  • Completion of Derivatives Fundamentals and Options Licensing Course
