We’re seeking a positive, experienced person who is focused on customer satisfaction to join our busy grocery store as a Bakery Manager.

Bakery Manager

While adhering cleanliness and food safety standards, you will:

  • Focus on customer satisfaction and ensure that employees provide customers with superior service while maintaining a clean, well-organized environment
  • Be accountable for departmental financial objectives including budgeted sales, gross profit, and contribution
  • Oversee the operation, quality, and freshness of the Bakery Department, including staff management/development, pricing integrity and accuracy of signage, and merchandising and inventory control
  • Buy from authorized vendors, maintain departmental inventory levels and order frequency
  • Create a schedule to maximize productivity to meet peak sales opportunities and the needs of the department
  • Set performance expectations, provide honest feedback, and identify assignments to provide others with developmental opportunities

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of experience working in a food retail environment, preferably in a supervisory capacity
  • An understanding and/or experience with bakery department operations
  • Knowledge of bakery products, production baking, and customer service experience
  • The ability to lead a team and offer coaching and mentoring to increase team engagement and productivity
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • A strong commitment to providing top-quality customer service in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • The capability to maintain a flexible schedule (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) to meet the needs of the department
