As the Cloud Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing the design and then operating the overall TELUS Health - Cloud Platform. You will implement and operate the overall TELUS Health - Cloud services with specific work towards, monitoring, compute management, puppet, automation, configuration management, and shared services.
This is a 24x7 on-call position and will require the candidate to be able to work in this environment.Here's how
•Operate the TELUS Health - Cloud Platform
•Create and keep up to date all operational documentation for the Cloud Platform
•Manage from an operational perspective the Cloud Platform
•Provide assistance as a senior technical expert to the Application Site Reliability Engineers (SREs)
•Provide guidance and solutions architecture technical experience to teams moving new products into the TELUS Cloud Platform
•Implement and operate security controls such as firewalls and intrusion detection system (IDS), identity & access management (IAM), manage and implement monitoring Qualifications:You're the missing piece of the puzzle
•Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
•7-10 years of progressive Information Technology (IT) experience
•Minimum 5 years of Cloud experience
•Amazon Web Services (AWS) certification
•Experienced in deploying/operating applications into the AWS Cloud environment
•Experienced in lift and shift migrations of non-native Cloud applications
•Good understanding of networking fundamentals: Subnets, basic routing, Domain Name System (DNS), etc
•Solid understanding and experience in configuration management, Puppet, and associated development languages: Java, Python, Ruby
•Understanding of continuous integration & continuous delivery (CI/CD): Atlassian Stack and Jenkins
•Categories of technology that you should have a good understanding and/or hands-on experience with: Great-to-haves
•Monitoring & Logging: Datadog/Splunk
•Federated Identity Management
•Advanced hands-on skills operating in Linux and Windows: Centos/Windows Server 2012+
•Advanced hands-on skills in AWS Cloud Formations
•Advanced hands-on skills in AWS products & services
•Knowledgeable in one or more development/scripting languages: Java, Python, Ruby, etc
•Skills in other Microsoft (MS) products: MS Structured Query Language (SQL), Terminal Services, etc
•Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification
•Linux Professional Institute - Level 3 (LPIC-3) certification
