Department Overview

As part of Global Compliance, Privacy, along with other risk and oversight partners provide objective guidance, independent challenge, and risk-based oversight of TD's compliance with applicable privacy laws, rules, and regulations (LRRs). Privacy plays a key role supporting TD's Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) Framework which sets out the structures, processes and key control elements through which Risk Owners and Oversight Functions globally are expected to manage and mitigate regulatory compliance risk inherent in their business or corporate segment activities.

Privacy's mandate is to promote a culture of privacy compliance through global and jurisdictional policies, standards, and guidelines that: (i) align to regulatory requirements and TD's Enterprise RCM Framework and related Standards; (ii) reinforce enterprise-wide privacy accountability; and (iii) are adaptable to regulatory change and the evolving needs of our businesses.

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Privacy Compliance, this role manages Privacy Compliance's training program; develops, supports, and administrates certain Privacy SharePoint sites; and provides operational support as referenced in the accountabilities outlined below.

Key Accountabilities Include:
  • Manages the Privacy Compliance training program including execution of the Privacy Skills Assessment Exercise and Annual Privacy Training Plan Procedure.
  • Manages Privacy Compliance required training processes for resources in specialized privacy roles such as the Privacy Designates. This includes facilitating onboarding, offboarding, and required training processes.
  • Manages the Privacy Compliance Learning Hub on SharePoint and further develops innovative functionality and efficiencies.
  • Manages the Privacy Compliance Learning Hub generic email account including execution of training related communication strategies and handles general inquiries.
  • Supports the maintenance and further development of Privacy Compliance training materials on TD Thrive and LMS.
  • Maintains evidence of any additional supplemental training.
  • Supports the shared Privacy Compliance drive migration and ongoing maintenance.
  • Supports the Privacy Intranet migration to Public (Internal to TD) Privacy SharePoint.
  • Supports the development of an internal Privacy Compliance Knowledge Centre and Consent Repository.
  • Supports the annual Privacy Event Management attestation process.
  • Proactively identifies areas of enhancement, including automation and/or streamlining of processes, to create efficiencies within our operations.
  • Maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders and promotes Privacy Compliance within the organization.
  • Contributes and supports, the execution of the Privacy Compliance strategy and programs.
  • Provides objective guidance, support and advice to promote strong privacy controls and processes.
  • Contributes to various Privacy advisory activities (e.g. research, analysis, procedural support), as assigned.
  • Participates fully as a member of the team, supports a positive work environment and continuously enhances privacy knowledge/expertise.
  • Leads/supports special projects, as required.

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
  • Strong Microsoft SharePoint knowledge and experience including developing and designing SharePoint pages, forms, libraries, automation and integration with Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
  • Strong ability to work independently, think critically and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to respond to conflicting points of view and effect creative and responsive solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple/changing priorities and deliver within required timelines is essential for this role.
  • Strong research, organizational, analytical and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with training, communications and governance documentation would be an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft applications (e.g., Work, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrates strong problem solving & analytical skills, including the ability to comprehend a situation by breaking it down into its components and identifying underlying issues

Education and Accreditation
  • Post-secondary education preferred.
  • 3+ years relevant experience in Compliance, Risk, Governance and/or a Project Management function
  • Previous privacy experience and/or an International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) certification, would be considered an asset.
