Position Overview:We are on the hunt for a talented and reliable Field Service Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our team! In this position, your main responsibility is to complete Preventative Maintenance fluid and filter changes, greasing, plus any troubleshooting and minor repairs on a variety of Caterpillar equipment primarily in the field.

Our ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, hydraulic systems, and basic tools and appliances. To excel in this position, you must be an outstanding problem-solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills.

In this position of Field Service Preventative Maintenance Lubrication Technician you will be responsible for completing Preventative Maintenance fluid and filter changes, greasing, plus any troubleshooting and minor repairs on a variety of Caterpillar equipment primarily in the field.

Job Description:
  • Inspect equipment and systems to identify any issues
  • Repair faulty equipment units
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures
  • Plan and schedule repairs
  • Perform general maintenance tasks
  • Maintain the inventory records for equipment and supplies

  • Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician is a minimum requirement
  • equivalent qualification
  • Certified Heavy Equipment Technician (Red Seal) would be considered an asset
  • Previous experience with Caterpillar equipment/engines
  • Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
  • Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Any other relevant training as required would be considered an asset such as:
  • o WHMIS
  • o H2S Alive
  • o Fall Protection
  • o Forklift
  • o Overhead Crane
  • o Eye, Hand and Back Safety
  • o Transportation of Dangerous goods
  • o Contamination control


  • What We Offer:
  • This position is located out of our Saskatoon Branch on a Mon-Fri 5x2 shift rotation
  • Hourly rate: $36.56 to Start
  • Boot Allowance: $250/year
  • Tool Allowance: $650/year)
  • Bonus Available

  • Must be able to comply with Covid-19 requirements(If applicable)
  • Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
