HR Generalist

SALARY: $80,000 - $85,000 per annum

LOCATION: Northern Alberta

INDUSTRY: Forestry

 

An international company in the forest industry is seeking a HR Generalist to join their growing team.  Are you looking for an opportunity that offers variety and the ability to wear many influential hats in an organization which embraces the entrepreneurial spirit in you? The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for the company and lead this well-respected organization in an HR capacity.  

COMPANY PROFILE:

An international company in the forest/pulp paper industry, looking to increase their presence and expand their team. They are looking for a versatile, hard working candidate who can work well under pressure and be able to prioritize multiple tasks throughout the day. This individual must be able to shift gears effortlessly and provide support to the company and its employees as needed. In addition, bring with them a positive attitude and be a team player.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Carry out HR policies, procedures and other company programs and advise employee on any queries. 
  • Advise management on Collective Agreement interpretation and implementation.  
  • Build and maintain relationships with employees and management team.
  • Advise management on issues related to employee relations, retention, performance management, discipline, grievances and resolve as necessary.
  • Mentor and coach management on employee engagement, performance issues including terminations, and team building practices.
  • Oversee recruitment and conduct orientation of staff and process necessary paperwork.
  • Assist in administering Health & Safety program.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years of HR Advisor or Generalist experience.  
  • Experienced in change management and recruiting management and trade positions.
  • 3+ years knowledge of labour laws particularly within a union environment.
  • Experienced administering Health & Safety Program.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Compensation at $80,000 - $85,000 annually.
  • Extended Health & Dental, MSP, RRSP, Pension and phone allowance.
  • 3 weeks vacation.
  • 5% living allowance.
