Position Overview: Provide clear and effective leadership demonstrating a healthy and safe work environment for all parts employees. Accountable for hose manufacturing, customer and shop parts sales execution facilitating targeted levels of customer satisfaction, the delivery of branch goals and objectives.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:
  • Ensuring the training of employees and check regularly to ensure Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to
  • Understand the OH&S requirements for their worksite as well as apply the Finning (Canada) Health and Safety management system to aid in meeting these requirements
  • Creating quality career learning plans and performance objectives aligned with the business strategy and supported through the year with quality informal and formal conversations
  • Effective Parts sales through knowledge of product line, marketing programs, customer interaction and relationship building with customers
  • Developing, maintaining and fostering a healthy relationship with the union and unionized employees
  • Achievement of operational/strategic targets, customer satisfaction, as well as customer loyalty and retention
  • Accountability for all parts related key performance indicators:
  • Safety: TRIF, LTI, Near Miss Reporting, Audit results
  • People: EOS, Performance Plan competitions, employee turnover
  • Customers: CO/WO fill rates, NPS scores
  • Results: Asset turns, Dealer Excellence, parts SG&A (overtime, freight recovery, cost per line, etc.), P&L variance. Parts Revenue, gross profit, parts good will and warrant


Safety Leadership: Lead, demonstrate and champion a healthy and safe work environment and culture for all parts employees, contractors and customers.
  • Ensure that all safety practices and policies and compliance requirements are followed
  • Employees hold and maintain the appropriate safety training required for their position
  • Monthly spot audits are conducted and that at a minimum, safety TRIF and LTI targets are met, while always striving for zero


People Leadership: Demonstrate clear and effective leadership to parts employees.
  • Provide role and responsibility guidance, performance management, coaching, mentoring and training to support growth and development
  • Recruitment and selection of employees
  • Provide quality, timely feedback to employees through formal and informal conversations to support the performance management process
  • Share Employee Opinion Survey (EOS) results, solicit feedback, develop and post an action plan on the Action Planning website.
  • Provides feedback to the inventory control group on stock requirements to meet customer demands


Results and Financial Management: Manage day-to-day parts operations, assets, finances including planning, managing and reporting of parts financial results, assets, and facilities requirements.
  • Responsible for reviewing the monthly metrics related to People, Quality, Velocity and Cost with parts employees
  • Manage the successful execution of Finning's parts operational processes and customer service commitment within the branch
  • Direct timely resolutions to customer issues and goodwill settlements
  • Collaboration with sales and service leaders within the branch
  • Customer facing accountability for escalated parts related issues
  • Defining/changing/creating more efficient

  • Understanding and adheres to Finning policies and procedures
  • Business acumen and financial planning, budgeting and forecasting knowledge
  • Performance Management and Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) processes and the principles of high performance leadership


Education & Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years parts related experience
  • 5 to 8 years progressively responsible management experience
  • Background in warehouse management systems
