Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Banking Finance, the successful candidate will be integral to achieving the team's mandate to deliver value-added analysis & advice that contributes to the strategic direction of the Commercial Bank.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate high proficiency with data analysis and interpretation, with proven ability to communicate information and key messages in a clear and compelling way that is flexible to suit different audiences. Managing balance sheet items and the end to end P&L will require strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills and business acumen.
The Senior Finance Analyst, Commercial Banking will be the lead analyst partnering with the Commercial Mortgage Group (CMG) and TD Equipment Finance (TDEF) portfolios. The role has a number of accountabilities which include, but are not limited to, the following:

The Senior Finance Analyst, Commercial Banking will be the lead analyst partnering with the Commercial Mortgage Group (CMG) and TD Equipment Finance (TDEF) portfolios. The role has a number of accountabilities which include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Take ownership of the relationships with CMG and TDEF and maintain a high degree of responsiveness, particularly with business leaders.
- Provide management reporting, including the delivery of monthly/quarterly financial results, and forecasts/plan, on the CMG and TDEF portfolios. The Senior Financial Analyst will also be accountable for completing key deliverables based on directives set out by the Manager of Finance.
- Participate in developing/implementing new financial models, methodologies, and frameworks to enhance ongoing reporting, audit, and analysis for the business on an ad-hoc basis.
- Play a key role in guiding business results, strategy, and decision-making capabilities through identifying business opportunities and risks, variances to forecast/plan, and discussions with business leaders. Ensure that the forecast is consistent with Commercial Bank's strategic objectives.
- Extract critical pieces of information and understand key business drivers in order to prepare presentations which communicate the financial results and key messages to business leaders.
- Work with other business areas to track and report productivity and cost-saving initiatives and identify and create ongoing process improvements where needed.
- Maintain industry, external, and internal business awareness, recognizing and anticipating trends, identifying issues and opportunities, and recommending actions.
- Develop and manage strong ongoing internal relationships within the business and with TD Finance partners (i.e. CMG/ TDEF Business partners, TBSM, FinOps etc.).
- Promote a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, productivity, innovation, creativity, analysis, and advice.

Job Requirements
- Skills / Experience / Other Qualifications:
- CFA/CPA preferred
- Strong analytical capabilities - ability to consolidate a large amount of information into clear, concise analysis and insights to influence business decisions.
- Highly motivated with an exceptionally strong time management aptitude, analytical skills, and the ability to be flexible.
- Proactive with the ability to see opportunities warranting further review & analysis.
- Organizational awareness and the ability to balance the viewpoints of Finance and the business.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to present to senior management level audience comfortably.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to plan, manage, and prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to negotiate, problem solve, and make trade-offs and decisions with various groups and demonstrate strong relationship management.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with Tableau & Alteryx would be an asset but not a requirement.
- Working knowledge of Bank reporting tools and hierarchy (Hyperion EMRS, OAC, HOST, CDA and CCoA G/L structure, expense category codes) considered an asset.
