The AWS Messaging and Streaming team owns and operates Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS), Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS), and Amazon Kinesis Data Streams (KDS). Our services provide AWS customers with the cloud messaging and streaming infrastructures needed for building highly scalable, asynchronous, and fault-tolerant distributed applications.
We are looking for Software Development Engineers (SDEs) who are passionate about building, maintaining and driving the operational excellence of high-scale distributed systems.

This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically three days a month, and also includes solving problems reported by customers. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don't get paged for the same issue twice.

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
• Proficiency with computer science fundamentals, such as object-oriented design, and algorithms.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Strong customer focus, ownership, and drive.
• Experience building and operating online services and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
