We’re seeking a positive, experienced role model who is focused on customer satisfaction to join our busy grocery store as a Store Manager.


Store Manager


What will you be doing on a typical day:


  • Focus on customer satisfaction and ensure that employees provide customers with superior service
  • Oversee the operation of retail grocery store, including store performance and staff management, control of cash and assets, and inventory and security
  • Improve store performance by forecasting weekly/daily sales goals, ensure processes are in place to achieve gross profit targets in all departments
  • Communicate sales goals, department performance, and sales opportunities with staff
  • Ensure that products are properly displayed and ordered
  • Manage issues relating to store maintenance, cleanliness, health and safety and sanitation to ensure the store is in compliance with company policies and standards
  • Set performance expectations, provide honest feedback, and identify assignments to provide others with developmental opportunities


The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:


  • A minimum of 1 - 2 years of retail and relevant management experience ideally in the grocery industry
  • The ability to promote a spirit of motivation that leads to profitability for the store
  • The capability to provide and demonstrate direction and conflict resolution to the retail environment
  • Strong multi-tasking, analytical, organizational, decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills and the capacity to communicate with all levels of staff
  • A minimum of grade 12 completion (post-secondary education is preferred)
