WSP is looking for an Electrical Technologist to join our team in the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan office. The successful individual will be responsible for design, tender and construction services on a large project. This position will have scope and freedom to satisfy the most ambitious, career-minded and technically savvy person.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Electrical design of power distribution, control, communication, lighting, fire alarm and security
  • Technical calculations and software use for lighting analyses, load calculations, and power system design
  • Applying technical and professional electrical engineering and consulting expertise
  • Working in a fast pace environment and able to pivot quickly based on client / project managers requirements
  • Capable of completing intermediate design tasks solo or with little direction from project manager is considered an asset
  • Responsibility for ensuring the output of the design meets the established project criteria and all applicable standards
  • Responsible for researching and implementing new technology designs as mandated by clients and the Electrical Engineering Manager.
  • Utilize industry specific software and related technologies in design and analysis (AutoCAD, REVIT, etap, AGI)
  • Proficient with the Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code, IESNA Standards
  • Other duties as assigned/required.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • LEED Accreditation and sustainable design experience are considered assets
  • 4+ years of experience in consulting electrical design engineering for buildings
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office, electrical design software, and experience with Revit are required.
  • Attention to detail, hard working, positive fun attitude and eager to learn.
