The Opportunity

Your Impact Starts Here
This is your chance to shape the future of ground engineering in Saskatchewan. As a Senior Civil Technologist based in our Regina office, you'll play a key role in strengthening our Geotechnical and Field & Lab Services practice-supporting critical infrastructure, construction quality, and materials testing programs that directly impact the safety and resiliency of communities across the Prairies.

Working closely with the clients, contractors and the WSP Team to ensure the successful delivery of projects. You will be highly involved in supporting the growth of our Geotechnical and Field and Lab Services and providing Senior level guidance and direction in a variety of technical areas such as geotechnical materials testing (asphalt, concrete, aggregates and soils), construction supervision and Quality Assurance (Q/A)/Quality Control (QC)inspection and testing.

Your Impact
  • Support the day-to-day operation of the Regina geotechnical laboratory and continue the ongoing development of the laboratory and field testing programs.
  • Coordinate and mentor junior team members, sharing your expertise to build technical excellence across the practice.
  • Review, interpret, and report geotechnical test results-helping clients make informed, safety-focused project decisions.
  • Be familiar with ASTM, AASHTO, and CSA testing procedures to ensure rigorous QA/QC for asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and soils.
  • Manage projects end-to-end-from proposals to invoicing-ensuring budgets, schedules, and client expectations are met.
  • Partner closely with project managers and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver cohesive technical solutions.
  • Maintain CCIL certifications, calibration records, and adherence to all laboratory quality frameworks.
  • Help grow the business by identifying new opportunities and strengthening relationships with contractors, developers, and industry partners.
  • Champion a safety-first culture by following all WSP HSE policies and maintaining a safe, compliant work environment.
  • Participate in the recruitment process for new staff when required.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • You hold a Civil Engineering Technologist diploma (or equivalent) and bring 8-10+ years of hands-on experience in geotechnical materials testing and construction QA/QC.
  • You've led project teams, coached junior staff, and contributed to positive, collaborative work environments.
  • You're fluent in the practical application of ASTM, AASHTO, and CSA procedures and enjoy balancing both field and laboratory work.
  • You bring strong project management skills-tracking scope, budgets, schedules, and client communication with confidence.
  • You're proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and have excellent attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
  • You meet the physical requirements of the role, including lifting up to 25 kg and working safely in noisy or dusty indoor/outdoor environments using PPE.
  • Assets: CCIL certifications, First Aid, WHMIS, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance training, and prior consulting experience.
  • Valid Canadian Drivers License and a clean Drivers Abstract.
